Motolombia can help you fly your bike to or from Colombia. We work with a couple of trust worthy shipping agents that can help with every aspect of your shipment.
Airfreight:
Flying out of Colombia is easy. Cargo planes leave almost everyday from Cali, Medellin and Bogota. Because of insurance issues and strict anti-narcotic laws every shipment out of Colombia has to be done through an authorized shipping agent. They handle all the paperwork and contact with the airlines. Expect a thorough inspection of all your stuff in the airport and control with sniffer dogs, anti-narcotic police, customs and national police.
Coming into Colombia is also easy and its free to obtain your temporary import permit for the bike upon arrival. If your bike arrive in Cali cargo terminal we are happy to help you out with clearing the bike and fixing the customs papers.
Prices differs a lot depending on dates, airline, fuel prices and the current dollar exchange rate, so for prices get in contact for a quote. Normally prices are between $1200 and $1600 USD Colombia – Miami, USA per bike. Personal transport is separate.
Boat shipments:
There’s a whole industry set up around transporting tourist across the Darien Gap. Several of these sailboats take bikes on board and information and prices can be obtained at certain hostels on either side at the Panamanian / Colombian port cities like Cartagena / Panama City / Colon. We do not get involved with this kind of shipment.

Hi Anival
There are a couple of questions that need answers first before I can advise anything.
1. First do you hold a Colombian citizenship?
2. For what purpose will you use the bikes in Colombia?
I’ll answer 2 first: You can import any vehicle new or old on a temporary import permit for tourist purposes only. Its free to do. This permit can be re-new’ed up to 6 month per calender year. You get normally 2 or 3 month upon entry. The other 6 month of the year the bike need to be outside Colombia. Same as you – if you come on a tourist visa. Bike will follow your personal visa.
You can not import any used vehicle permanently for any reason or purpose. You can not import a new vehicle if the model is older than 1 year (current).
Answer to 1: If you’re a Colombian citizen or hold any other visa than a tourist visa you can not bring any vehicle here on a tourist permit. And same rules apply concerning permanently importing!
Cheers

Mike… I’ve been trying to find a way to get two Bikes into Colombia but I’m told that they would have to be current year ( 2012 )… Everything I’ve read states no used Bikes but says nothing about the model year. Please advise as what is true… Let me know what you would charge to help get these there. One is a 2006 Harley Deluxe and the other is a Sunny 250cc touring scooter… the scooter is a 2011 but not used, never titled or registered anywhere. I can get it delivered from the warehouse in California to Miami.

There is only one airline that does this now and they are called girag. Since its only them they dictate the price. I believe its about 950 dollar per bike now.
Other option is the sail across from cartagena. It takes 5 days and cost about 450 per bike and same per person.
I don’t really get involved in any of this as.
Cheers
